Many temporary employment agencies in the US and in the UK are reporting a huge demand for accountants because of new business accounting rules relating to the Sarbane-Oxley Act.
The legislators who sponsored the Sarbanes-Oxley Act said yesterday that the number of public companies restating their earnings reports since 2003 shows the law is working.
"The number of restatements is up, and I take that as a sign the problems are being corrected," Rep. Michael G. Oxley (R., Ohio), chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, said at a continuing-education conference at the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington. Bloomberg News
