The Worst Temp I have Ever Seen!
I worked for this particular investment bank for a number of years with no problem. Then one day this WuMan like appeared out of the fucking blue, I have no idea where she came from.
I was assigned to the WuMan one weekend to modify a document of hers, fairly simple shit. I modified the thang’s document and as I’m leaving I hear her tell another thang that I was “the worst temp she had ever seen”.
Now you would think that if you actually managed to get a management job at an investment bank that is NOT clerical and/or administrative and you don’t have a dick, that you would at least try to be nice. I mean given that there are thousands of other WuMans in NYC who would kill to be the token Vagina at an investment bank. But noooo, this particular WuMan seemed to go out of her fucking way to try to prove that she could approximate having a penis.
Now, since I was at the bank before the WuMan arrived (and I think that I was there after WuMan left) her claiming that I was the worst temp she had ever seen didn’t really mean a heck of a lot. Also, the fact that the WuMan proceeded to piss off almost everyone in any support capacity at the bank, tended to make folks believe that she was the one with the problem rather than me.
There were people in the word processing center of this bank who were afraid to open documents that had the WuMan's name on them. The WuMan had her own special list of temps who could work with her or on her documents.
The moral of the story here is that if you run into a total asshole on a temp assignment and you have a track record with your agency and/or the place where you are working, the asshole probably won’t be able to do much harm to you. But, if you run into a total asshole and you have no track record (and the asshole is not yet a known asshole) the asshole could probably do some serious harm to you and your ability to make a living.
In general, temp agencies know who the assholes are BEFORE they send you to them (because chances are the assholes have already gone through hundreds of temps before you).
